Earn the Texas Badge for Cub Scouts!

Texas is by far the most interesting state in America. Test your knowledge, learn a few new things, and show off your singing and drawing talents when you attend one of the Texas Badge Scout Nights. 

Activities include: Learning - Texas icons, Famous Texans, Indian History, and Six Flags. Also,  some drawing/coloring, Singing the Texas State Song, Trivia bragging rights, and lots of smiles!

TEXAS BADGE REQUIREMENTS

1. Be an active Cub Scout or Webelos Scout registered in a Pack in Texas

2. Name the State bird, State flower, and State motto

3. Sing or recite the words of “Texas, Our Texas”

4. Draw the six flags of Texas

    4a. Tell something important that happened when Texas was under each flag

5. Name a famous Texan

    5a. Tell why that person is famous, and what you like or dislike about him or her

6. Visit a historical place in Texas

    6a. Tell about the important events, which happened there

7. Read a story any Texas subject (fiction or non-fiction)

    7a. Tell what you learned from the story

8. Find out about the Indians who lived near your community at any time

    8a. Tell about some of their history and customs

Frequently asked questions:

  • How can I earn the badge?  You can do the learning on your own, then your unit leader can sign off on completion. 
  • Who can earn the badge? Cub Scouts can currently earn the badge.
