Pearls of Wisdom:

"It is only when you know a boy's environment that you can know what influences to bring to bear."

- Lord Baden-Powell

Hello Scouts and Scouters!

The Boy Scouts of America building Character in our youth for 106 years! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA!!! We were founded on February 8, 1910.

Did you know that the Boy Scouts of America has been teaching Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) long before STEM was a buzz word? Merit Badges like Astronomy (1911), Chemistry (1911), Electronics (1963), Engineering (1967), Geology (1953), Space Exploration (1965), and Weather (1927) just to name a few. We have been leading the way for over a century.

We continue to be a leader in our communities because Scouting lives in our hearts, in our blood and in our heads. The Boy Scouts of America is a force to be reckoned with. Spread the Scouting story, share the laughs, share the adventures and share the love.

As a non-profit organization the Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council is able to operate with local financial support. We do not receive any government funding. Your investment is important to the success of the Scouting movement. Please take a look at the links below as they will explain how we are funded. If Scouting has made a difference in your life or the life of your child please spread the Scouting story with your family, friends and colleagues by forwarding this email and the links below.
