Report to State 2018

Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 7:00am to 12:00pm
All Scouts are invited to attend the annual Report to State. The Alamo Area Council will put a delegation together of 25 youth, one of them is the spokesman for our council. Scouting units will march in a parade down Congress Avenue to the State Capitol. Once at the Capitol, each spokesman will make a report on the status of their council to a state official. All participants are usually welcome to view the report event in the balcony of the House Chambers.

Non-participant   $6.00

The Alamo Area Council will put a delegation together of up to 25 youth, one of them will be the spokesman for our Council 

COST: $45 per person. Each paid youth delegate will receive the hotel breakfast, commemorative RTS patch, a Report to State cap, and an electronic copy of the RTS Group photo.  Each paid adult will receive the hotel breakfast and commemorative RTS Patch.

Additional patches are $10 each.

Digital official group photos (YOUTH DELEGATES ONLY) will be emailed to the delegation leader to distribute to the participants.


Additional Rules and Comments:

1) All delegates must be pre-approved by the Alamo Area Council.
2) All approved delegates must be in complete BSA Field Uniform for the 2018 Report to State Address.
3) All delegates must attend a briefing meeting/uniform inspection prior to the 2018 Report to State in
(Date not yet determined).
4) Those delegates interested in applying for the official Alamo Area Council delegate to give the
address must submit one full page essay as to why they are interested in being chosen for the position,
followed by an interview with the Alamo Area Council Report to State Team.




ACCOMMODATIONS: Options for the delegation to choose from


Lost Pines Scout Reservation: LPSR is located approximately 35 miles from downtown Austin and available for your delegation. Please bring your own tents and camping gear. Reservations must be made with the Capitol Area Council prior to arrival and no fees are charged to Council RTS Delegations for use of LPSR on Report to State weekend.

 Several state and county parks are also available to camp out in the area. We encourage you to research those options if you want to camp outdoors.

You may consider contacting Austin affiliates of Charter Organizations that members in your delegation belong to for accommodations.Other facilities that offer overnight sleepovers to Scouts and merit badge opportunities include:

Scouts and Scouters from your council other than your council's Report to State Delegation are encouraged to participate in the parade. The breakfast and photographs are limited to official council delegations only.
