The Basura Bash is a volunteer organization with a mission to increase stewardship of the San Antonio Area Waterways through the mobilization of volunteers, community education and building public/private partnerships for the betterment of our community's environment. Basura Bash is the largest single-day waterway clean up in Texas. From its beginning in 1994, over 35,000 volunteers have diverted nearly 495 tons of trash, 47 tons of metal, and 5,640 tires from area waterways.
