Camperships Available for 2017 Summer Camps
by Jay Ghormley, for the Alamo Area Council, January 5, 2017
The Campership Committee of the Alamo Area Council works to remove financial barriers that may stop Scouts from attending summer camp. The Committee has ascertained that there are several sources for financing the camping experience: the youth’s family, funds raised through product sales (Popcorn and Camp Cards), and a campership, if needed.
Camperships, which can cover up to 50% of the Early Bird registration price of a summer camp, are available for the following summer camps:
- Boy Scout Camp at Bear Creek
- Cub Scout Day Camps
- Webelos Outdoor Adventure
- Tiger Day Camp
- Cub Scout Resident Camp
Campership Applications must be submitted by individual Scout families from the Camperships page. Applications for are confidential. Units may assist families by providing fundraising opportunities, identifying financial needs and guiding families through the campership submission process, if needed.
Questions about the campership process may be addressed to Matthew Rodriguez, Outdoor Adventure Service Coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org or 210-740-3549.
