MAY: Hands On Camping and Learning for Cub Scouts
by Jay Ghormley, for the Alamo Area Council, April 13, 2017
Cub Scouts, have you ever cooked your own dinner using a dutch oven after
searching for your ingredients using a map and compass? Can you help your parent set up your tent? How are your knot tying skills?
Have you ever camped at Bear Creek Scout Reservation across the river from the 120 foot tall cliff?
Does this sound like fun? Would you like to learn more Cub Scout Camping Skills while making friends and having fun?
Camp begins with check-in and setting up your tent; Tigers, Wolves and Bears will assist their adult partners, Webelos will set up their own tents with assistance from adults, if needed. The weekend will also include a Scout's Own Service and a service project to benefit the Bear Creek Scout Reservation.
If so, then you need to register for the 2017 Cub Discovery Camp.
