Powderhorn 2017 Training Weekend II

Let's Do Some High Adventure at Powder Horn 2017!

What are you doing in September and October? How would you like to do some Shotgun, Rifle/Pistol or even Black Powder shooting!  How about Archery, Tomahawk throwing, Mountain-Biking, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Log-rolling, Fly Fishing, Canoeing/Kayaking, Land Navigation, Geocaching, Pioneering, or riding the Zip-line!  Opportunities for doing High COPE, Life-Sized Foosball, Low COPE, Climbing, Rappelling, Skull Crusher, Lashing, Moulage, Astronomy Gazing, or going on a Backpacking Excursion are also planned. And learning and doing Scouting Services, Utensil-less, Dutch Oven or Backpack Cooking, and Branding; as well as get information on National High Adventure Programs, Outdoor Ethics (formerly known as Leave no Trace), Wilderness Survival, Ecology, the History of Bear Creek, Emergency Preparation, Expedition Planning, and Caving?

Sound like FUN?

If you would like to get in on this exciting, hands-on experience and learn how to provide these High Adventure activities to your unit, then YOU need to sign up for the Alamo Area Council’s Powder Horn 2017 Course (PH2017), register by clicking on the orange button to the right side of this page. PH2017 takes place over two full weekends, Sep.29-Oct.1, 2017 and Oct. 13-15, 2017, at Bear Creek Scout Reservation!

Although PH2017 is already full, you can still get on the Waiting List! Historically, 10-15 % of our Participants drop out before the Course begins and we will draw new Participants from the Waiting List as soon as this happens.
