Here’s a simple, fun way to better yourself & your unit in 2017 – Register and go to POWDER HORN!

Powder Horn is an action-packed, hands-on, six-day course which helps Scouters learn how to implement High Adventure activities into their Troop, Crew or Ship.

Do you have young adults in Venturing who would enjoy snorkeling?  What about Boy Scouts who are ready to maximize their shooting skills?  Or Sea Scouts that want to go log-rolling? Would you like to expose your Troop, Crew or Ship to Archery, Tomahawk throwing, BMX/Mountain-Biking, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Log-rolling, Fly Fishing, Canoeing/Kayaking, Land Navigation, Geocaching, Pioneering, Zip-line, High COPE, Life-Sized Foosball, Low COPE, Climbing, Rappelling, Fire-building, Lashings, Moulage, Astronomy, Backpacking, Scout Services, Utensil-less, Dutch Oven and Backpack Cooking, and Branding, as well as get information on National High Adventure Programs, Outdoor Ethics (formerly known as Leave no Trace), Wilderness Survival, Ecology, the History of Bear Creek, Emergency Preparation, Wilderness First Aid, Expedition Planning, Caving, and more?

This awesome Course spans two, three-day weekends:

Weekend #1 is Sep.29-Oct.1, 2017 (@ Bear Creek Scout Ranch)

Powder Horn is ONLY offered once-a-year, so do not miss this chance to attend!  Set your sights on a Course that maximizes Scouting skills, while bringing adrenaline, new activity ideas and leadership to your Unit.  Powder Horn is designed to introduce and expose all adult leaders to the activities, training and resources necessary to run a successful outdoor or high adventure unit-level program.  It is intended to help leaders get ‘out of the box’ in finding and using resources, and in the way they lead their unit-level outdoor and high adventure programs.

Register NOW by simply clicking on the ORANGE "REGISTER" button on the right side of this screen and improve yourself and your unit in 2017!

Adult leaders from all Scouting programs are eligible to attend; there are no restrictions on attending the Course a second time. The Course has a limited capacity and fills up early, so don’t wait to register!  The cost is $270 per person.  Powder Horn is offered only once every year; do not miss this chance to attend!
