Powder Horn 2017 (PH2017) is an action-packed, hands-on, six-day training course designed to introduce Venturing and Boy Scout leaders to activities and resources necessary to operate a successful high-adventure program; you get to do the activities and we give you the resources needed to bring the activities to your unit!

At PH2017, you’ll experience and learn about all kinds of high-adventure activities, like: Archery, Tomahawk throwing, BMX/Mountain-Biking, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Log-rolling, Fly Fishing, Canoeing/Kayaking, Land Navigation, Geocaching, Pioneering, Zip-line, High COPE, Life-Sized Foosball, Low COPE, Climbing, Rappelling, Fire-building, Lashings, Moulage, Astronomy, Backpacking, Scout Services, Utensil-less, Dutch Oven and Backpack Cooking, and Branding, as well as get information on National High Adventure Programs, Outdoor Ethics (formerly known as Leave no Trace), Wilderness Survival, Ecology, the History of Bear Creek, Emergency Preparation, Climb on Safely, Trek on Safely, Wilderness First Aid, Expedition Planning, and Caving!
