Scouting for Food is a regional-wide food drive led by local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts with the goal of collecting 25,000 pounds of food for those in need, with a focus on youth.

The drive will take place over two weekends:

  • On Saturday, April 9, 2016, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will deliver empty paper bags donated by H-E-B throughout their local neighborhoods. The bags have instructions on them for you to fill with nonperishable items and leave on your doorstop early the following Saturday morning April 16, 2016.

  • Starting at 8 AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will retrace their steps, pick up the filled bags and then deliver them to drop points throughout the region where the San Antonio Food Bank will have trucks waiting to collect the food
