Fitness Exploring Open House

Fitness Exploring Open House

Boy Scouts of America - Alamo Area Council is excited to be partnering with Jake Porter, an Eagle Scout, of Camp Gladiator to mentor students who are 14 (and in 9th grade) to 20 years old and interested in Physical Fitness careers.

A FREE Open House will be held at McGimsey Scout Park on July 7th from 7pm - 9pm. Students will participate in fitness related activities and interact with trainers to learn more about this growing field. This exciting adventure goes beyond fitness and into how business decisions are made.

Exploring is a part of the Boy Scouts of America's affiliate called Learning for Life, and is a co-ed career oriented program of the Alamo Area Council in Bexar and the 12 surrounding counties. The Exploring program has 5 areas of emphasis including career opportunities, leadership experience, life skills, citizenship, and character educations. Exploring provides Scouts with real-world career experience, social and career networking, and is a leadership development program. Exploring is delivered through mentoring, internships, and community service in partnerships with thousands of businesses, organizations, state, local, and federal agencies.
