The Scout Strong Patriot Run included a 5K Race for adults and a 1K Kids’ Fun Run. The run, in collaboration with the National BSA’s Scout Strong initiative, promotes a healthy, active lifestyle for the Scouts, families, and communities we serve. All proceeds from the event benefited the programs of the Alamo Area Council.

“We are happy to partner with organizations like Valero that shares our passion of ‘Keeping the Campfire Alive’  by achieving a healthy, outdoor lifestyle for our youth,” says Michael de Los Santos, Scout Executive for the Alamo Area Council, BSA.

Additional sponsorship dollars and support come from Carvajal Pharmacy, Dr John Thomas, Whataburger, H-E-B, Venturing Officers Association, Allegra SA, and Alamo Tees. Timing is provided by iRun Texas. Endorsements from the Mayor’s Fitness Council and SA2020 continue to drive this event forward.  The mission of the Mayor’s Fitness Council is to lead San Antonio to be one of the healthiest and most active communities in the nation in which residents, groups and organizations work collaboratively to achieve targeted health and fitness goals.
