Scouting Serves Unique Communities Field Day at McGimsey

by Terry Ellis for the Alamo Area BSA: August 19, 2016

Youth members enjoyed a special Field Day at McGimsey Scout Park on Friday, August 12th. Forty members participated in activities geared towards outdoor fun and adventure.

Crew 7000 from the Texas Foundation of Hope and Pack 5 from the S.A.M Shelter attended the event. Activities included swimming, archery, BB guns, crafts, and a cookout by Crew 7000.

"The Crew usually comes to McGimsey Scout Park for Field Days and camping. One of their future events they are really excited about will be an activity at the Mays Family Scout Camp," said Linda Dieguez, Outdoor Adventure Director for the Alamo Area  Council. "We really have great facilities and resources so that all of our youth, whether in traditional programs, Scout Reach, or speciality programs can learn and enjoy the outdoor experience," she said.
