3rd Annual Scout Strong Patriot Run

PULMONAIR to Sponsor 5k Race to Support the Alamo Area Council BSA and Our Armed Forces during Flag Day Weekend

SAN ANTONIO, June 11, 2016 – Locally based PULMONAIR Respiratory Equipment partners with the Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council by serving as the lead sponsor for the 3rd Annual Scout Strong Patriot Run. This year the run will be held during Flag Day Weekend on Saturday, June 11, from 7:00 – 10:00 a.m. at McGimsey Scout Park, 10810 Wedgewood Dr, San Antonio, TX 78230. Media is encouraged to attend to watch Scouting supporters enjoy their own outdoor adventure in honor of our Armed Forces.

The Scout Strong Patriot Run includes a 5K Race for adults and a 1K Kids’ Fun Run. The run, in collaboration with the National BSA’s Scout Strong initiative, promotes a healthy, active lifestyle for the Scouts, families, and communities we serve. All proceeds from the event will benefit the programs of the Alamo Area Council.

“We are happy to partner with an organization that shares our passion of ‘Keeping the Campfire Alive’  by achieving a healthy, outdoor lifestyle for our youth,” says Michael de Los Santos, Scout Executive for the Alamo Area Council, BSA.

“My hope is that all boys have an opportunity to experience Boy Scouts. Although there are other noteworthy organizations, I see Boy Scouts as a foundational program for boys to develop into well-rounded young men, who have a diversity of hands-on life skills.” says Dr. John Raimondo, CEO of PULMONAIR.  “Many times throughout the years I have relied on skills and lessons I learned in the process of earning my Eagle Scout rank. The Raimondo family is blessed and honored to have the opportunity and ability to give back to the Boy Scouts of America."

Additional sponsorship dollars come from the Valero Energy Foundation, H-E-B, and GlobalSCAPE. Timing is provided by Split Second Productions & Powered by iRun Texas. Endorsements from the Mayor’s Fitness Council and SA2020 continue to drive this event forward.  The mission of the Mayor’s Fitness Council is to lead San Antonio to be one of the healthiest and most active communities in the nation in which residents, groups and organizations work collaboratively to achieve targeted health and fitness goals.
