Ford River Race

The Ford River Race is a "Scout night" event held in partnership with the Paseo del Rio Association that began over 49 years ago.  Local celebrities, corporate teams, the general public, and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts compete in timed heats through the downtown area of the River Walk. It is the only event that allows people to canoe the downtown River Walk.

Over 100 canoe teams compete in the Ford River Race. The race begins at the Chamber of Commerce, heads east through and around the Convention Center Lagoon, through the Rivercenter Mall Lagoon and ends back at the Chamber of Commerce.

Scout Nights are exciting times of Scout participation with San Antonio's professional sports teams, and other council coordinated adventure offerings found within our local community. Many Scout Nights include "behind the scenes" adventure OR admission to a Camp Out right before or immediately following the event.
