ATTENTION ALL LEADERS..
The Alamo Area Council is going to an all internet-based advancement tracking. Starting 1/1/2016, only Internet Advancement reports will be accepted for any advancement/merit badges/or special awards. No hand written forms or other software programs will be accepted. .

**Units picking up ranks and other specialty awards need to bring in the Internet Advancement print out with the awards listed to be able to purchase those items. Replacement ranks also need the Internet Advancement report**

It is BSA policy that all rank advancement and merit badges must be reported in order for them to be purchased. This is explained in the Guide to Advancement in topic 4.0.0.2.
Advancement is one of the most important measures of success in Scouting. If reporting is not required then advancement is under-reported. Unreported merit badges also causes difficulties in verification of the Eagle Scout Rank Application.
Units may report advancement through Internet Advancement. To learn about Internet Advancement, contact the council office.
"Proof" that a merit badge or rank has been earned comes in the form of the printed report generated by Internet Advancement.
As of 1/1/2016 the Internet Advancement report is required for all ranks, merit badges, and specialty awards. No awards may be purchased without this specific form. Rank/merit badge replacement also requires the Internet Advancement report.
