Texas Hills Celebrates at District Banquet in January

Texas Hills Celebrates at District Banquet in January

Start the New Year by attending the Texas Hills District Banquet on January 9, 2014, at 7 pm at the Bandera United Methodist Church, 1103 Cedar St., Bandera 78003. Scout leaders and other volunteers will be recognized for their service while enjoying the delicious barbecue cooked by members of the District Committee.

There are several awards that are offered to recognize outstanding leadership at different levels.

Up to two District Awards of Merit can be given for outstanding volunteer service to the District. Consider sending applications for members in our district that you see have gone above and beyond to benefit the district in some way.

Every unit has one or two members that have stellar participation at the unit level. These volunteers can be recognized with the Top of Texas Award.

Each year the Council accepts nominations for the Silver Bear Award. This award recognizes the leadership shown at a Council level.

Depending on the requirements for each knot, Scouters can be recognized for their roles as Scoutmasters, Cubmasters, Committee members, and others through the square knot awards. If your unit has awarded a leader one of these awards during the year, please let the District Committee know, so that these individuals can be recognized at the Banquet.

A list of previous award members for the Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit, and Top of Texas will be coming out soon.

Come to the Banquet to recognize and celebrate the outstanding leadership that can be found in the Texas Hills District!
