Two Rivers Turkey Shoot a Huge Success

On May 20th, 2017, the Two Rivers District of the Alamo Area Council Boy Scouts of America hosted their very first Two Rivers Turkey Shoot at the McQueeney Gun Club.  Sponsored by the San Antonio Airport Rotary Club and GVEC, the event raised $1,975 to help support local scouts.  Adult and Youth Scouters as well as Rotarians lined up to test their skills on 2 different targets at both sitting and standing.  The top Adult winner was Robert Bruce from Pack 51, who won the top prize by only one point against Andrew Ramos from Troop 10 out of the Cimarron District. The top two Youth winners were a Sibling team of Lauren and Joshua Benson from Crew 343.  Both youth had a cumulative score of 125, with Lauren taking a slight lead with 13 bullseyes (the most of any in the competition.)  Barbara Vander from the Rotarians took the lead in her division with a total of 12 Bullseyes!  The top prizes for the Adults was a Turkey and Turkey Fryer with both Youth winning a complete set of the 2013 Jamboree Patches.  The Turkey Fryer was graciously donated by the Academy in Selma.  We also had the Battleship Challenge, for an additional $25 per team of 2, you could challenge someone to a Battleship target for the chance to win prizes. The Top 2 adults won a Concealed Carry Class Voucher or 2 hours of Range Time Courtesy of the McQueeney Gun Club.  The Two Rivers District would like to express their gratitude for all the Volunteers and participants that helped to make this event such a success.   We hope to see you next year!!!
