Guide to Merit Badge Counselors

New Merit Badge Counselors required to submit both MBC Application and BSA Adult Application to Scout Service Center. 

By serving as a Merit Badge Counselor (MBC), you offer your time, knowledge, and other resources so that Boy Scouts can explore a topic of interest.  Whatever your area of expertise or interest—whether it is a special craft or hobby (basketry, leatherwork, coin collecting), a profession (veterinary medicine, aviation, engineering), or perhaps a life skill (cooking, personal management, communications)—as a counselor, you play a vital role in supporting future leaders.

You will need to register with the Boy Scouts of America, through the Alamo Area Council by completing, and turning in the "Adult Application" AND filling out a MBC application online by clicking hereExternal Link.  Every applicant is screened, and the normal turn around time is usually two weeks (or less)
