Training Is An Important Part Of Being A Scout Leader!

Cub Scout leaders are considered trained when they have completed Fast Start, Youth Protection, This Is Scouting, and the Cub Scout Leader Specific training for their position.

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is not required to be a trained pack leader. However, someone is required to be BALOO trained to go on outings, and that name is required on a tour permit.

Scoutmasters and assistant Scoutmasters are considered trained when they have completed Fast Start, Youth Protection, This Is Scouting, Leader Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.

Troop committee members are considered trained when they have completed Fast Start, Youth Protection, This Is Scouting, and the Troop Committee Challenge as their leader-specific training. Troop Committee Challenge is cureently a web based module.
