Angel Zuniga Martinez, a fifth generation South Texas native and a Texas A&M University Marketing graduate, serves as the Director of Scouting Relations and Communications at the Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council.  

Mr. Martinez's primary responsibilities include strategy and management of the Council's public image and brand through media relations, public relations, internal and external communications, and marketing initiatives for a team of over 40 scouting staff professionals and 6,000 adult volunteers serving Bexar and the 12 surrounding counties to bring the Scouting experience to over 22,500 youth. 

Martinez also utilizes his talents in music and film production, photography, journalism, and graphic design in his roles as managing editor of the Adventure Guide publication, Chief content and story creator, Creative Director of the new Scout Studio 6 Newsroom, and in support of council special events, including the Annual Friends of Scouting fundraising campaign, Good Scout community leader recognition luncheon, Popcorn and Camp Card fundraising sales, Scout Strong Patriot Run, youth membership drives and the Boy Scout Shoot Out, and the Boy Scout Golf Classic.  

Additional responsibilities include management of the Scouting Relations Department that includes the Learning for Life and Exploring program, the Marketing internship program, and Scout Nights advisor with area sports teams and attractions.

Prior to his position as Communications/Public Relations Director, Martinez held a diverse background of over 18 years of experience from that of a successful sports / entertainment private banker and entrepreneur to co-founder and former President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of East Tennessee.

Angel also attended Belmont University, is a Pi Sigma Epsilon Marketing Alum, member of the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists, PRSSA, and enjoys basketball, working out, and songwriting.  He is a member of Colonial Hills UMC with his wife Jennifer and their three boys, Gabe, Joe, and Ben.
