Biography

Bill Burges, O.D.  joined Cub Scout Pack 310 in 1959.  There has been a uniform in the closet with the numbers 310 since then with only a break to go to optometry school and start a family.  He has been a  Webelos leader, pack committee chairman, scoutmaster, troop committee chairman, merit badge counselor, and now serves as district commissioner for the Texas Hills district.

He earned the rank of Life Scout.  His father was an Eagle Scout, as is his son, Jeff.

He has been practicing optometry in his hometown of Castroville since 1976.  He and his wife Mary Lou are the parents of 5, and grandparents of 6.  When not busy with work, scouts, or spoiling grandchildren, he tries to find time for a little hunting and fishing.
