District Awards are a perfect way to recognize your leaders and show a Scouter that you appreciate all their hard work and dedication. Nominate them for a Silver Beaver Award, a District Award of Merit, or the Super Coyote Award! Listed below is a link to a fillable PDF version of each nomination form. Before clicking on the nomination form, we ask that you please read through this page in it’s entirety as some dates or important information may have changed.
Things to know:
- Silver Beaver Award Nomination Form – this is a National Award presented by Council to Scouters for outstanding Council-level contributions and achievements. All Silver Beaver Nominations should be sent directly to the Council’s Awards Board at recognition@AlamoAreaBSA.org, or one of your Scout Service Executives at Coyote@AlamoAreaBSA.org. All nominations are Due by December 2 of each year
- District Award of Merit Nomination Form – this is a Council Award presented by District to Scouters for outstanding District-level contributions and achievements. All nominations must be completed and emailed (or hand-delivered) to the Coyote District Awards Chair at recognition@AlamoAreaBSA.org no later than December 15 of each year
- Super Coyote Award Nomination Form – this is a District Award presented by District to Scouters for outstanding Unit-level contributions and achievements. All nominations are Due by January 5, of each year.

- The Silver Beaver Award and the District Award of Merit Nomination Forms both have award criteria listed on the forms themselves.
- The following are the UPDATED criteria for the Super Coyote Award – to earn the Super Coyote Award, the nominee must:

- Be a currently registered adult volunteer/Scouter in a Unit assigned to the Coyote District
- Be fully trained for their position
- Have rendered service of an outstanding nature at the Unit-level
- Be nominated in writing (i.e. have a completed Nomination Form submitted on or before the due date) Please Note: The Award write-up/narrative will be based on the nominee’s total service to Scouting and will describe the nominee’s service and accomplishments, including activities, leadership, and special or unique contributions to the unit.
- NOT be a previous recipient of the Super Coyote Award (recipients of equivalent Unit-Level Awards from an old/former District in Alamo Area Council are still eligible to earn the Super Coyote Award once
- Nominee must be alive (i.e. nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards)

- Special Notice:The Council recently announced that it will will no longer be able to fund pocket-hangers/patches for Unit-Level Awards (such as the Super Coyote Award). Therefore, although 2019 recipients of the Super Coyote Award will receive an official Super Coyote Award Certificate (suitably framed), they will NOT be presented with the traditional pocket-hanger/patch. Coyote District Leadership has begun its search for a generous donor(s) to fund the cost of producing such a Super Coyote Award pocket-hanger/patch; if and when said donor is found and the pocket-hangers/patches are made, all past Super Coyote Award recipients will be presented with their pocket-hangers/patches.
