  • Eagle Scouts Trip to Mars 2019

    The Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council are proud to partner with NASA to send a select group of 19 Eagle Scouts to Mars in 2019. For an Eagle Scout to be considered, please register your interest online today by 11 pm.
  • APR: Backpacking the Back Country at Bear Creek Scout Reservation!

    This is the one time you get to see parts of Bear Creek Scout Reservation that you don't see during summer camp!
  • MAY-OCT: Friends of McGimsey 2018

    A quarterly opportunity for all Alamo Area Council units to earn service hours and maintain their scout park at McGimsey.

    A den chief is a Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, or Venturer assisting a Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear, or Webelos Scout den.

  • DEC: 2018 Venturing Cup Challenge and Open House

    All Crews and invited guests will compete in fun games of skill, adventure and team building for the Venturing Challenge Cup at the McGimsey. Invited participating guests are FREE and should be Venturing program age eligible. Venturing is a youth development program for young men and women who are 13(completed 8th grade) thru 20 yrs of age. Youth guests can register to join a crew at this event.
  • Scout Night with SAFC 2018

    Join the fun on Saturday, October 6th with the San Antonio Football Club (SAFC)! Tickets only $20 if purchased before September 16th! Ticket includes soccer game ticket, food voucher, fan experience and commemorative patch. After the game, stick around for autographs and meet and greet with the players! So come out and enjoy the game with the entire family!.
  • Boy Scouts of America Spirit Night at Willies! Celebrate Back to School on August 21st!

  • MBU 2018 - USAA Personal Management

    USAA is the presenting sponsor of the Personal Management Merit Badge. This opportunity is for Scouts who are 1st Class or above to earn the Personal Management MB. There are 3 meeting days over 3 months. USAA's goal is to provide insight into personal, time and financial management, which will also help scouts on their path toward their Eagle Scout rank. Only 3 Scouts per Troop are allowed.
  • Pinewood Build Day at Mays Newly Added Content

    It's time to get your Pinewood Derby car ready for the races. Bring your Pinewood Derby car kit, an adult, and your creativity. Tools will be on hand to help craft your perfect race car.
  • 2018 Leave No Trace-Outdoor Ethics

    This 16-hour, two night training course is designed for adult and youth members of Scouting 14 years of age and older, who value the land and want to teach others how to protect and preserve it. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an Outdoor Ethics Trainer certificate, a trainer pin and will be qualified to teach Outdoor Ethics skills to all levels of Scouting.

    One of the most exciting experiences you can have with your Boy Scout Troop is taking them to a personal challenge of perseverance. Alamo Area Council offers an open climb at our tower at McGimsey Scout Park.

    Join us for a night you won't want to miss! Cheer on the San Antonio Rampage Hockey Team as they take on the Chicago Blackhawks, So join us on March 23, 2019 at 7:00 PM and show your Scout spirit.
  • Troops Invited to Demonstrate Outdoor Skills for Webelos

    Boy Scout Troops are invited to participate in the upcoming Webelos Trail to Eagle to be held November 30 to December 2. The Webelos Trail to Eagle is designed to connect Webelos with outdoor skills and the Troops they may join when they crossover.

  • Units May Now Reserve Their Popcorn Pick-Up Time

    Popcorn Selling Units may now reserve their Popcorn pick-up time. Pick will begin Friday, August 31. Units may register for their preferred time slot. Unit orders are due, in the Trail's End Popcorn System, by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 19.
