Council Events and Activities

The Alamo Area Council plays host to many events throughout the year.  Please review our featured events listed below, and see the other event sections on this website listed at the bottom of the page; OR check the Council Calendar for a full listing of all events and activities. Also see the Training Calendar (under Calendar) for training events.

If you are a Scout Volunteer leader involved with supporting a council or district event, please work with your District Executive or Council Staff Advisor to request eRegistration, to have your event registration setup online.  You can also email for details or request the form at

    The Mays Family Scout Ranch is offering the new Cub Scout Adventure programs and Boy Scout Merit Badges for the 2017 year.   • Camperships Available for 2017 Summer Camps

    The Alamo Area Council provides Camperships, up to 50% of the Early Bird Registration Fees, for Scouts in need who wish to attend summer camp. Confidential Campership requests may be submitted on line.

  • Sat. Aug, 5 - Ford River Race 2017

    Join the Boy Scouts of America and Paseo del Rio Association on Sat., August 5th from 7-11am for a race down the San Antonio River. The Ford Canoe and Kayak Challenge includes a Scouting competition encouraging outdoor adventure.     August 3rd at 6:00 pm is the 2018 Bear Creek Unit Appreciation Dinner, come out to hear all about Bear Creek 2018 and have dinner on us. Registration is limited to 3 participants per BS Troop or Crew.

  • Merit Badge University Fall 2017

    Boy Scout Merit Badge University on November 4, 2017 at St. Phillips College. A one day event hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council, for Boy Scouts in the 6th-12th Grade or ages 11-17 to earn up to four merit badges to help with their path to earn their Eagle Scout rank and serve our community.
  • Winter Merit Badge University 2017

    Boy Scout Winter Merit Badge Extravaganza December 26 - 28, 2017. Winter Merit Badge University (MBE) is an annual event hosted by the Alamo Area Council, Boy Scouts of America that gives Scouts, the opportunity to earn merit badges.
