The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring this free event to provide an opportunity for Cub Scouts to interact with deputies and earn rank requirements or electives. Cub Scout Law Enforcement Night, Fall 2018 will be held at the McGimsey Scout Park Sport Court on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Scouts will work with separate units of the Sheriff’s Department to address rank-specific activities. Not all activities will be completed in full, please be present with your scout to ensure they get appropriate credit for what is completed.
Lions: Animal Kingdom
Tiger: Rolling Tigers and #6 of Safe and Smart
Wolf: Hometown Heroes
Webelos I: First Responder
Webelos II: Build My Own Hero **Note, please come with questions prepared, you will have a sit down discussion with a Bexar County Deputy.
Registration is open through November 11th and is limited to 45 scouts per rank, including Lion Scouts! Please register so we can properly prepare for the event.
Please bring a refillable cup, or water bottle with you. Drinking water will be provided
Please note: Parents must remain with their Scout(s) at all times.
A TENTATIVE schedule for the evening’s activities:
6:00 pm – Check In opens
6:30 pm – Opening Ceremony/Announcements
6:45 pm – Session 1 – All scouts attend their assigned Rank Classes.
7:20 pm – Session 2 – Choice of presentations to attend: possible options: SWAT, Jail, Patrol Cars, Fingerprinting.
8:00 pm – Dog Handler presentation
8:15 pm – Closing ceremony.
