This year, the Campership Committee is adding more consideration to those scouts that participate in the Popcorn and Camp Card sales to help fund their summer camp. It is an important part of the process and a valuable life lesson for a Scout to begin learning how to “earn his or her own way”. In addition, a portion of the council’s campership fund comes from proceeds from popcorn sales and camp card sales. It is encouraged that units and scouts to participate in those programs that will support their ability to participate fully.
If your unit has chosen not to participate in popcorn sales this year, know that your Scout may still participate as an individual:
Beginning Thursday, November 8, 2018, individual Scouts/families may begin selling popcorn.
This sale will have two options:
- Prepay all popcorn products (no returns allowed) and earn 50% commission (purchase at 50% retail)
- Check out popcorn on consignment (payments and popcorn due by Friday, December 14) and earn 45% commission
