Dear Scouting community!
Please join me in extending best wishes to our dear friend, Eagle Scout and beloved Aggie, Ed Rogers, CFRE, who is retiring on December 14, 2018, from the Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council.
We all recognize Ed for his unconditional dedication, grace, and work ethic as our Director of Scouting Endowment. He will be deeply missed but we can only feel happy for him after over 25 years of service to youth! Mr. Rogers began his professional career in 1971 in a field staff assignment at the Longhorn Council in Fort Worth.
Mr. Rogers’ responsibilities include the oversight and support of the council’s annual and legacy giving activities, United Way relationships, foundation grantsmanship, and corporate and individual donor relationships program. Ed has previously served as chief development officer for United Way, Junior Achievement, UNT Health Science Center, and St David’s Hospital. Among his previous experiences is service on the staff at Texas A & M University, and as a private fund raising consultant.
Ed lives with his wife Susan in Boerne where he will continue to be active as a community volunteer with the Cibolo Nature Center and I’m sure to Scouting! He also attends St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and spends a lot of his spare time cycling, playing golf, kayaking, and birding.
You can send words of congratulations and support to Ed by email at Ed@AlamoAreaBSA.org!
Yours in Scouting and Gig’Em,
Angel Martinez, PR Director
