The best way to take your unit climbing is to take the Climbing Instructors course. Learn about knots, climbing equipment, commands, rigging, site management and best of all you get to climb and rappel yourself! You must be an adult 18 years or older to take this course.

- Climbing Instructor Training – Classroom (Mar 17th, 2020, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
- Climbing Instructor Training – McGimsey Tower (Mar 21st, 8:00 AM – Mar 22nd, 2020, 4:00 PM)
- Climbing Instructor Training – Bear Creek (Apr 3rd, 7:00 PM – Apr 5th, 2020, 4:00 PM)
You must complete all training sessions to complete this course. Training begins at McGimsey Scout Park Tuesday. Training will continue for a Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the McGimsey Climbing Tower. You will need to bring a sack lunch. Training culminates at Bear Creek for a weekend. Stay at the Conference Center or, if you want, camp in the area surrounding Conference Center. We will start on Friday at 7 pm and conclude Sunday at 4 pm.
No personal equipment will be required. A climbing hold harmless form, current physical, and Climb on Safely are required. Climbing is a strenuous activity and we won’t be sitting still, so be prepared. Cost of the training is $85.00. You will receive all written materials necessary for the course.
