As we prepare for new members and leaders for the upcoming program year, it is important to have the correct forms for your adults.
Although the new forms have been available since 2018, outdated Adult Applications are still being utilized by units across the Council. The prevailing reason is simple really: The disclosure and background check authorization evolved. Most units have a stack of applications in their possession and since the old ones and the 2018 ones look so similar, it’s difficult to tell at a glance the difference between them. Because the changes were few and were made to the forms attached in the final sheets of the application, it often gets overlooked. Ultimately, this results in volunteer frustration because the National office will not accept them, and it causes a delay in assigning new leadership within the unit. Having the proper forms for new volunteers goes a long way in instilling confidence when welcoming them into your program, and not having them can put a real damper on your unit’s progress, especially during Recharter.
Our District Service Executives and Registrar acknowledge the effort our volunteers put into ensuring a fantastic Scouting program for our youth and we want to make this easy for you if possible! The Alamo Area Council has plenty of Adult Applications for your unit, so get rid of the expired forms in your possession, and next time you’re at the Service Center, ask for a stack of the current Adult Applications, or contact your District Executive to request them.
Can’t wait, and need new forms now? DOWNLOAD THE CURRENT FORMS HERE, as it is the only version acceptable for Adult registrations.
Thank you so much for your commitment to Scouting and keeping our Scouters safe!
