It is that time of year again, and there are changes for how units must recharter for 2022.
Don’t wait. The sooner Units get their documents in, the smoother the process will be for you and your unit.
There is no longer a “code” to get into the system. If you have logged in and it is asking you for a code you are in the wrong place. Take a look at this video and or print off the instructions to get you in the correct place. Also, new this year is who has access and how we can delegate the task. Only the key-3 has access. To delegate this task to someone in your committee, your Chartered Organization Representative (COR) must send an email to the Council Registrar, Melissa More to set up permissions on the admin side to provide proper access to the new user. Only currently registered leaders can be given access.
There is an Online Payment Option, and though it may seem like a good idea, we are recommending against it. The National Office charges a 3% processing fee that can be avoided if paid in person at the Council Service Center. Plus, if there are any last-minute changes to the unit application, they can be corrected prior to payment being made, meaning less stress for your unit treasurer! The Council accepts check and credit card payments without additional fees.
As a reminder, all adults registering with your unit for 2022 must have completed their position-specific training on My.Scouting.org, and have eligible Youth Protection Training for the duration of the program year for your recharter packet to be approved.
Don’t forget to Celebrate your Unit Achievements
- Baden Powell Award:
Make sure your unit gets the recognition and incentives it has earned and add your unit’s Baden Powell Award scoresheet to the recharter paperwork.
- Journey to Excellence (set to be retired at the end of 2021):
Make sure your unit gets the recognition and add your unit’s Journey To Excellence scoresheet to the recharter paperwork. Patches are available at the Musselman Scout Shop for earning units.
- National Summertime Pack Award:
If your pack has not turned in its National Summertime Pack Award Application, make sure to attach it to your unit’s recharter paperwork. Pins are available for participating Scouts at the Musselman Scout Shop.
