Scouting in the Alamo Area Council as of Monday, May 4, 2020
The Alamo Area Council will not be opening our Scout Service centers or camps this week.
Opening safely is a very complex project that involves new procedures and equipment, all of which require preparation and training. This is something we cannot and will not do casually or quickly.
Please know we believe in outdoor adventure and the values of the Scout Oath and Law to support our youth and community. Although we continue to offer Scouting at Home adventures (visit www.AlamoAreaBSA.org/ScoutingatHome), we do desire to return to in person Scouting Activities as soon as safely possible.
We thank you in advance for your patience and support of the best youth character development program in the country.
Stay tuned. We are looking at some options for our Scout families. Until then, we ask that you follow the extended Stay Home orders. Do not meet in person until further notice. Please wear a mask if you have to go out for essentials.
Our most updated Council response to Coronavirus COVID-19 can be found online at www.AlamoAreaBSA.org/Covid19.
Yours in Scouting,
Angel Martinez, PR Director
