Updated COVID Protocols as of 8-4-21
In conjunction with our Medical Advisory Committee the Alamo Area Council’s new policy as of August 4th, 2021 is that Masks are required for all indoor functions (Unit Meetings, Trainings, EXPO, Council Service Center, etc.) regardless if vaccinated or not. Outdoor events require masks if not able to social distance. This includes time in vehicles transporting to and from activities. For campouts, campers must camp as a single, or with their family.
We understand that this may not align with some personal beliefs and that this may be frustrating. We, as a movement, need to be able to continue to provide quality scouting even during a Pandemic, and if that requires us to mask up, then we will do so. Our focus needs to remain on keeping EVERYONE safe and to continue to participate in Scouting.
In addition to the Mask policy stated above we will follow the same guidelines as is put out by the National.
- Isolate if you are sick, and do not attend any activity/meeting/event if you, anyone you live with, or anyone you have recently been around feels unwell.
- Do not attend any activity/meeting/event if you or anyone you live with has been tested for COVID-19 or another illness and does not have the results back yet.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Until further notice, international travel is not considered an official Scouting Activity.
As always, please exhibit the Scout Oath and Law as we continue to navigate a safe return to the activities we enjoy.
