Represent your Council at the Annual Report to State in February! All Scouts, volunteers, and families are invited to celebrate the anniversary of Scouting in the United States with our annual parade through downtown Austin. Join Scouts from across the 18 councils in Texas as we demonstrate Scout spirit via floats, marching, cheering, and music. After the parade up Congress Avenue, participate in the Scout Spirit Rally on the south steps of the Capitol and let everyone know you’re proud to be a Scout! Then head into the House of Representatives’ chamber and hear the delegates’ reports across the state, plus comments from an elected state lawmaker who serves as our honored guest for the day. In the past, the Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and other leaders have served as the honored guest.
The Alamo Area Council will put a delegation together of 20 total Youth and Adults, one of whom will be the spokesperson for our council. Any Scouting units may march in a parade down Congress Avenue to the State Capitol at no cost. All participants are usually welcome to view the report event in the balcony of the House Chambers.
