District Newsletter – April 2020
We understand these are difficult times for our families and we want to make sure we are here for you and your Scout! Our ultimate goal is to continue the Scouting program for generations to come.
Here is your April District Newsletter – Web Edition:
Scouting can take place anywhere – even in the comfort of your home! We’ve created a resource hub for parents and leaders to help support Scouting At Home, with stay-at-home educational activities for any Scout Rank, tops for continuing to work on advancements and kid-friendly content that connects Scouting with their daily lives. We will continue to add new content and resources to this hub regularly.
Q: When is a good time to recruit?
Q: How can I still recruit for my unit during the COVID-19 Pandemic?
A: Take advantage of social media and Peer-to-Peer recruitment. Showcase your activities on all social media platforms, while encouraging your Scouts to get their friends involved while as they sit on the couch.
Let’s hear it…
Whether it’s making a bird house or working on a merit badge, how is your unit continuing the Scouting Program?
We want to hear from you! Send us your stories and pictures as an encouragement to others.
We’ll feature one story each week on our District website.
Find the complete list of the available Virtual Merit Badge Classes and the dates and times they are offered HERE. All prerequisites are listed in the registration descriptions. Please remember, it is the Scouts responsibility to receive Scoutmaster approval prior to the start of the merit badge.
Registration is still open for Bear Creek! Sessions will close at 350 Scouts each week and camp will begin a week earlier!
Your district leadership is currently working on setting up our District Eagle Boards. Virtual Boards should begin the 2nd week of April by appointment only. We are currently seeking volunteers to help run Eagle Boards.
Please contact AJ Chaney at AJ.Chaney@Scouting.org for more information.

The Coyote District has a goal of $175,000, and we need your help. We understand these are difficult times for our families and we want to make sure we are here for you and your Scout. All Unit presentations are currently being rescheduled due to the recent Stay Home/Work Safe order and the COVID-19 Pandemic. We ask that you click on the link and consider rescheduling your Unit presentation. Our ultimate goal is to continue the Scouting program for generations to come. With that we ask that you consider a pledge to Scouting.
