In-Person Cub Scout Day Camp Registration Opportunities Recently Added Content

Registration for all 2017 Day Camps will be made online; several opportunities for in-person registration are available for those with limited online access. Council Staff will be available at several locations to enter online individual and unit Day Camp registrations. Computers and assistance will be available.

Battle for Texas Scout Night 2017 Recently Added Content

All Scouts invited to Journey Back in Time during this immersive adventure at Battle for Texas Scout Night. On Sat., May 13, 2017, at 10 a.m., the Battle for Texas will showcase Alamo artifacts and connect them through multimedia re-enactments. 1836 reenactors will also take Scouts thru Texas Heritage training, supporting many Texas Badge requirements. Price is $10 per Scout youth/adult.

Troops: Save the Date, Serve as an Example - Web-O-Ree 2017

Troops are needed for the 2017 Web-O-Ree at McGimsey Scout Park. Boy Scouts will demonstrate Scouting skills and the Patrol Method to Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts. Save the dates on your Troop calendar: October 17-19, 2017.

Camperships Available for 2017 Summer Camps

The Alamo Area Council provides Camperships, up to 50% of the Early Bird Registration Fees, for Scouts in need who wish to attend summer camp. Confidential Campership requests may be submitted on line.

5th Annual Camp Card Sale Starts February 24, 2017

It’s that time of year for the Alamo Area Council's 5th Annual Camp Card Sale and hopefully our best yet. Over the past four years the participating units have sold 226,710 cards and earned OVER $1.1 Million for Scout camping, activities, and Council programs. Is your unit ready to join in on this extremely easy money-earning opportunity?

Cub Scout Law Enforcement Night with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is sponsoring this free event to provide an opportunity for Cub Scouts to complete rank specific electives. The event is limited to 45 Cub Scouts per rank and will be held at the McGimsey Scout Park Sport Court April 5, 2017, 6-8pm.

Outdoor Ethics Trainer Course

This 16-hour, overnight training course is designed for adult and youth members of Scouting 14 years of age and older, who value the land and want to teach others how to protect and preserve it. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive an Outdoor Ethics Trainer certificate, a trainer pin and will be qualified to teach Outdoor Ethics skills to all levels of Scouting.

McGimsey Day Camp 2017 Staff Applications Now Being Accepted

The Alamo Area Council Outdoor Adventure Center is now accepting Cub Scout Day Camp Staff applications for the McGimsey Scout Park. The McGimsey Day Camps will feature a new staff structure in 2017. Boy Scouts and Adults are encouraged to apply. Application Deadline is January 15, 2017.
