Like all good Scouts we can read the trail for clues and signs. We can read a map and find true north with a compass. If you have mastered these basic Scout skills and you like having fun then join us on Saturday, January 16, 2021 for the Alamo Area Council Great Scavenger Hunt!
Based on over 200 different fun filled clues, questions, and puzzles this scavenger hunt will take you and your team all over the Alamo Area Council and everywhere in between. Each item, location, or question you find or solve for you and your team find will be worth points. Each of the 205 questions or clues require a simple picture or short video that your team will need to take once you have found it or figured out the clue that brought you there – Wherever there is! The Great Scavenger Hunt is meant to be a group event. You can sign up as a family, Den or Patrol. You can even sign up the whole Pack, Troop, Crew or Ship. There is no cost to participate in the Scavenger Hunt and registration is already open at:

Here is how the Scavenger Hunt will work. Once registered the Council will send out instructions on how to set up a simple Dropbox account so you can record and then send in all your pictures or videos you will shoot while on the Hunt. The list of 205 clues will be sent to each family or team on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 7pm. On Friday night, you and your team are welcome to do all th research and planning you feel you need to lay out your Saturday on the Hunt. The race will start on Saturday, January 16 at 8am and run through 6pm that afternoon. The list is designed to be so far-flung and so diverse it will be all but impossible to find, solve, or go to all 205 clues. Therefore, we are giving all participating teams Friday night to plan for their own schedule and lay out their own plans for the Hunt itself. The list of clues and questions range from Bear Creek all the way down to Elmendorf and then back up to Canyon Lake. Not only does the list take you to different locations, it also covers everything from Scout Skills and Lore to Council trivia. It even has four different service projects built into it!
So once again, come join the family friendly, COVID safe first big Scouting event of 2021, the Alamo Area Great Scavenger Hunt!
